Historic building work requires specialist knowledge not only for the designer, but for the owners, building users, contractors and maintenance people.

Local authorities have strict policies and guidelines on any work carried out on listed buildings, buildings with historical value, or within conservation areas. In addition, English Heritage are guardians of our national heritage and are also involved in the design process.

Material choices as well as design value should be carefully considered for any project, as a wrong decision can prove not only physically damaging to your building, but also very costly to put right.
